Kindergarten:
L esson 1: Who is the Guidance Counselor? Where do we see them? “What is the I Care Rules (Positive Conflict Resolution) Hidden Picture game” looks at a positive way to show caring in our classroom and what to do if there is a conflict. . Approx. 25 minutes
Lesson 2: Review last month’s lesson. Play hidden Honesty picture game. Play Honesty Hollywood Squares, the fun tic tac toe game that looks at ways for us to be honest in the classroom and at home. A lot of funs as students love the funny Hollywood characters! 30 minutes
Lesson 3: Respect: Review the previous months lessons and then take a look at tattling in the class and play the interactive game of “thumbs up or thumbs down?” This game gives your class various scenarios of telling the teacher and helps students decide what and when is a good time to tell. 30 minutes
Lesson 4: Kindness. Review the previous month’s lessons and then take a look at kindness and read together the animated short story of the Hippo who was unkind to himself. Your students will love this story as they follow along as the words walk across the screen. Then play a game of “Kindness Hoops” where we score points by being kind at home and in school. A lot of fun! Students will rave about this one! 30 minutes
Lesson 5: Responsibility. Review the previous months lessons and then take a look at Responsibility in the story of, “Pedro and the Broken Heart”. Students will watch the story of Pedro who was irresponsible with his school duties but who decided to make a change and help build his self-esteem. Conclude with students drawing their own picture of how they are responsible in school every day. 30 minutes.
Lesson 6: Caring: Review the previous months lessons and then take a look at Caring by joining the Caring Golf Club. Walk your students down through the course as they swing through 9 holes discussing ways each of them can more caring at home and in school. This is an all time favorite as the ball flies through all sorts of wild spaces and places. A lot of fun! 30 minutes
Lesson 7: Fairness: Review the previous months lessons and then take a look at playing fair by taking the ice for a game of “Fairness Hockey”. Skate the puck in and then take a shot and decide if the situation is fair or not? Great sound effects and action that students will love! 30 minutes
Lesson 8 Citizenship/ Careers: Review the previous months lessons and then take a look at feelings and careers. We all have feelings and people who have careers are no different. Discuss each of the career situations and decide how that person would feel on that job. Review the entire year’s lessons. 30 minutes
